Emma's Bridal Jewelry Launched!

Well, around two weeks ago, I was finally able to launch Emma's Bridal Jewelry. Unfortunately, it was far from a grand opening. That's the problem with eBusiness. You can't have grand opening sales or anything like that. I suspect that this process of opening and getting the first customer through the door will take a matter of weeks or months.

Submissions, Submissions, Submissions

One of the keys to a successful online business launch is visibility by the search engines. Sure, you can pay for ads, but the majority of your customers are going to come through search engines. One of the things Google uses is the PageRank system where a link to Emma's Bridal from another site is counted as a "vote" for it, thereby increasing it's rank in the search results. But in Googleworld, not all sites are created equal. Certain sites carry a higher weight of vote than others. Which is why it's good to get listed on directory's like the Open Directory Project. Unfortunately, it's been two weeks and we're still not listed there. It's a volunteer effort, so it may be a little while longer. I can't imagine that it would be denied.

Podcasts

Well anyway, I was thinking. Wouldn't it be cool if the site could draw in new customers through another form of free advertising? Yes! Podcasts! Just do a weekly podcast of everything bridal, and then mention the website! Emma's Bridecast. It's perfect! "Emma" would become the Martha Stewart of weddings!

Over all, my trip to New York was great! I wouldn't even mind living there, but that's improbable since most of what I do is internet based and it doesn't really matter where I live. If you have the means, I highly recommend checking it out, it's so choice =)
