Tethering a Canon Digital Rebel XT to Aperture 2

Aperture 2 came out today, and I was super excited about trying out the tethering feature built into Aperture now. Tethering allows you to see pictures taken with the camera appear in Aperture immediately after the shot. You can even use Aperture to control the camera. However, I couldn't figure out how to get my Canon Digital Rebel XT to work with it.

Thoughts on IE8 browser version targeting

I've just been reading up on Microsoft's idea of browser targeting (that Aaron Gustafson supports) that would allow web developers to essentially opt-in to the standards mode of Internet Explorer 8. The idea is to add a simple META tag that lists out the browsers that the site was tested and proven to work properly on. Like so...

Web 2.0 at my Company

Today I had the pleasure of attending a keynote by Jose Castillo on Web 2.0. He's runs the blog thinkjose.com and he also spoke at SXSW this year. Unfortunately I wasn't able to attend SXSW, but at least I get to see Jose. This week is Sharepoint days at Eastman Chemical Company where I'm working until May 11. Jose delivered the opening keynote to kick off the conference.

The Ultimate iTunes Smart Playlist

I hate having to choose what type of music I want to listen to because it's in a constant state of flux. Just randomizing my music library isn't enough. I want the ability to control what percentage of what type of music is in the playlist I'm listening to. iTunes doesn't offer the ability to insert percentages in a smart playlist directly, but it's easily done by using multiple smart playlists together
